I hope you had a Merry Christmas and spending time with loved ones for the holidays. This will be my last outfit post of the year and yes yes they have been slacking throughout the year and I will work on being much more consistent next year. I must admit that I do see the growth in my outfits and it’s always great to look back on previous outfits from the past to see how much I have grown over the years. My outfits aren’t always a hit for everyone, but that’s okay because that’s the beauty of fashion (what may work for me may not necessarily work for the next and vice versa). There will be some hits and some misses and I accept them both which provides room for improvement. I do enjoy being able to switch things up a bit and challenging myself to shop my closet more often than not. It’s so sad that I have so many clothes, shoes and handbags in my closet with tags on them, but I’m always hollering about not having anything to wear. I can stare in my closet for hours and still say I don’t have nothing to wear and sometimes cancel my plans because of it (yup I’m good for that one…just ask my husband and friends lol) and that’s when everyone wants to come in my closet and tell me what I should wear….ummmm I think not. I guess that’s what you call den-ial. I’m always guilty of keeping my family waiting on me to get dressed and arriving late because I take so long on deciding what to wear and not to mention everything else I have to do like hair and makeup too. There have been times that I have gotten completely dressed only to change what I was wearing to something else (sad, but true). Sometimes I wish I was a get up and go kind of person so that I’m not always so behind schedule, but that won’t happen anytime soon that’s for certain *shrugs shoulders*…..well that’s the life of a
blogger well most women as a matter of fact…we are so indecisive when it comes to our wardrobe.
Stripes & Peplum
Stripes is another trend that I believe is here to stay like leopards and animal prints. I’m a lover of anything stripes, polka dots and leopard and it consumes so much of my wardrobe and I don’t know why I constantly continue to buy them…I guess I’m just a sucker for these patterns and I’m okay with that lol. It’s so amazing to me how fashion just continues to repeat itself over and over again and that’s the reason I tend to hang on to almost everything for so long. I decided to pair this skirt with my black peplum top (last seen here) and I just love how the look tied together with the add of the mustard tights.
I wore this outfit a few weeks back to church and yes I’m just now posting it, but I’ve been so busy getting things prepared for the holidays and just life in general that I hadn’t got around to posting it. My grandma always told me…It’s better late than never :p. This outfit is a result of me rushing as usual and was planned at the last minute as in the morning of, but most of the time the outfits that aren’t pre-planned are the ones that always look best and I love the way everything came together with this look. The striped skirt was purchased last year in the summer from Old Navy and the best thing is that the skirt works for any season…definitely my type of wardrobe essential. I don’t know why, but I’ve been in the mood to wear tights a lot more than not here lately, well at least since it has gotten colder…I guess I’m taking advantage of the little bit of fall/winter weather we get here in San Antonio. It definitely won’t last for long. These tights were gifted to me from We Love Color a few years ago and they are still going strong and in rotation (such great quality).
I just wanted to take the time to let you know that I appreciate each of you for taking the time to read and comment here on the blog. While 2013 has been a rough one for me I’m so grateful for this little outlet of my life and for each of you who have stuck around with me over the years. I love and appreciate each and everyone of you. Happy New Year to you all!
