Hello Everyone & Happy New Year!!
I know this post is a few days late, but I had been feeling a little down lately. Over the last couple of days I have been contemplating deleting my blog. I would rather not say why, but I will say that I thought about YOU guys and it wouldn’t be fair to those that actually do read my blog so that alone is what gave me the motivation not to do so. Sometimes the ignorance and immaturity of others can bring a person down, but I’m not going to give in that easily and allow another petty person to kill my joy. I love blogging and sharing my life with you guys. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for taking the time out to read my blog. I truly appreciate all of your comments, follows and kind words you have left on this blog, tweeted on twitter and sent via emails. You are the motivation that keeps me determined and wanting to continue moving forward!
I know over the last few months or so I had been out of touch with my blog a whole lot due to grad school, but at this point I am done with grad school and it’s time for me to pick up where I left off. I will work on posting my weekly features again to include the “Trend of the Week“, “Who Wore It Better” and a few other features that I have in mind that both consist of Pinterest as well as Instagram. I am also considering taking the 30×30 challenge as well, which will work in my favor so that I can challenge myself to wear the things I already have in my closet (I’m sure this will be difficult for me).
2011 was great year for Diary of a Chic Mommy. I celebrated my 1 year blog anniversary. I never imagined that I would have so many great connections when I started my blog, but it has been a true blessing because I have met some great people through social media. Some recaps from 2011 include Date Night to The Tower of America’s sponsored by Cottonelle Ultra. My Newfound Sisterhood with Curve Appeal is another chapter in my life that I’m so thankful for. I feel like I have known many of these beautiful ladies for years because we just clicked and have such a good time when we are in the presence of one another. I was also able to attend the Grand Opening of both Versona Accessories and Dr. Schol’s.
As I decided on some of my favorite outfits over the last year, I look back on some of the things that I wore like what the heck was I thinking, but overall I have learned a lot, but this is MY blog and My style so “It is What it Is.” But seriously some things just did not work well together and it takes YOU to have a visual to look back on them and see what worked and what did not work. Here are some of my favorite looks from 2011.
I’m so thankful for the many opportunities that my blog has allowed me to do in 2011 and looking forward to what 2012 has to bring. I’m sure it will be a bigger and better year. I’m not to big on New Year’s Resolutions; however, I am going to work on a healthier me. With that being said I am will be making some changes to my eating habits and start eating a lot healthier and being more active to shed a few pounds and just to become a healthier me. I don’t want to lose a lot of weight, but I do want to be healthier.
Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right 🙂
I’m also linking up with Monday Mingle, a weekly fashion/style link-up rotated between Momtrends, BonBon Rose Girls, and Glamamom.
